Apaeleticus Wesmael, 1845
Apaeleticus is an unusual genus since the petiole is not wider than high like the most other member platylabines. However, Apaeleticus specimens are usually fairly easy to recognize since it is the only genus with a convex clypeus, amblypygous females, and usually a nearly reticulate propodeum. Additionally, despite the narrower petiole, the habitus of Apaeleticus is similar to that of most Platylabini ( moderately stout body; moderately elongated legs and basal flagellomeres; and short, usually oval-shaped metasoma).
Apaeleticus occurs throughout the Holarctic region and in Vietnam in the Indo-Malaysian region. In North America, there are two described species in North America and an additional 8-12 undescribed species.
