Asthenolabus Heinrich, 1951
Asthenolabus is a moderate sized genus of 12 described species, three of which are in North America. It closely resembles Cyclolabus and Platylabus but it differs from those genera by the small, shallow gastrocoeli and the narrow thyridia. Given that morphological convergence is rife in Ichneumoninae and Asthenolabus is distinguished mainly by two related characters (i.e. the developement of the gastrocoeli and thyridia which are known to be very labile), Asthenolabus is almost certainly a derived lineage within Platylabus and should therefore be synonymized.
