Baeosemus Förster, 1869
Baeosemus is a small Holarctic genus, but the few North American species have not been described. Its distribution in North America is likely restricted to the Rocky Mountains. Baeosemus can be identified by the diagnostic characters listed below. Additionally, all species are either entirely black or black with a brownish-red metasoma.
Diagnosis
- female without hind coxal tooth
- postpetiole densely, coarsely punctate
- gastrocoeli and thyridia near anterior margin of tergite 2
- female metasomal apex oxypygous
