Catadelphus Wesmael, 1854
Catadelphus is a small genus in the Callajoppa genus-group. As with all genera in this group, females are amblypygous.
This genus is somewhat unusual within the Callajoppa genus-group in that several of the characters that typically define it as a genus-group are less developed. Specifically, the anterior of the propodeum slopes downward less sharply, the areola is still distinct and bounded by carinae, and the areolet is quadrangular but not irregularly-shaped. Regardless, Catadephus is undoubtedly a member of the Callajoppa genus-group.
Diagnosis
- female metasomal apex amblypygous
- areola small and raised but still distinctly carinate
- anterior of propodeum only modestly sloping
- areolet of forewing quadrangular (not irregularly shifted apically as in remainder of Callojoppa genus-group)
- postpetiole without conical projection
- mandible bidentate
