Eupalamus Wesmael, 1845
Eupalamus is a small genus with only two North American species. In habitus, postpetiole sculpture, and developement of the gastrocoeli and thyridia, it is very similar to Cratichneumon. Eupalamus is mainly distinguished by the longer dorsal face of the propodeum, such that the areola is longer than wide (some Cratichneumon also have a longer than wide areola but a squarish areola is more typical) , and the more coarsely sculptured propodeum verging on finely reticulate (at least in Eupalamus melacneme). Females also have slightly enlarged tarsi and the two species are quite large compared to most Cratichneumon.
There probably are not any undescribed Nearctic species.
