Hemihoplis Heinrich, 1961
Hemihoplis is a very small genus of rare but distinctive wasps. They are easily recognized by the nearly flat clypeus; propodeal apophyes produced into small spines; and the wide, deeply-impressed, slightly oblique gastrocoeli. The coloration of Hemihoplis species is uniform with a brownish-red base color and yellow and black markings.
There are two described species and several undescribed species in North America.
Diagnosis
- propodeal apophyses produced into small spines

- gastrocoeli wide and deeply impressed
- scutellum weakly elevated above postscutellum
- postpetiole longitudinally rugulose (not quite striate as in Ichneumon)
- female metasomal apex oxypygous
