Menkokia Heinrich, 1934
Menkokia is a small but highly distinctive genus represented by a single Nearctic species. There are no undescribed species in North America. The Nearctic Menkokia blandii is instantly recognizable based on its distinctive color.
Biology
There are no recorded hosts of any Menkokia species.
Diagnosis
- anterior margin of propodeum with median tubercle protuberance
- female metasomal apex oxypygous
- postpetiole varying from punctate to punctate-striate (longitudinally)
- gastrocoeli and thyridia well-developed but narrower than their interval
- males with well-developed bristle ridges on flagellum
- female wtih apical 1/3rd of flagellum flattened and widened
