Tmetogaster Hopper
Tmetogaster is a highly distinctive genus that is represented by a single species, Tmetogaster nubilipennis, which occurs throughout the eastern U.S. and Canada. Despite the boxy metasomal tergites which is similar to that seen in Trogus, T. nubilipennis belongs to the Callojoppa genus-group. With its unique coloration T. nubilipennis cannot be mistaken for any other ichneumonid. As with all species in the Callojoppa genus-group, sexual dimorphism is minimal with the only difference being that females have yellow banding on the antennae but the males do not.
